This worked GREAT. I added a 36 inch piece of clear hose from Lowes and it pumped from the 5 gallon gas can into the high truck fillet in 3.5 min. Setting the tank higher than the inlet it took 2.3 min. I am 68 and these tanks are hard to hold up and slow to drain. It’s just as fast with this pump. I will use this for my boat, cars, truck lawn tractor and mower, pressure washer andgenerator. I usually always spill som gas but didnot with this. Just turn off switch and let gravity drain gas out of pump.

I love this pump. I live in Florida we get hurricanes. When we have a storm coming the first thing we must do is get gas to run our generator. We do not have the luxury to wait and see about the storm because we actually run out of gas at all the gas stations. So we have had a few scares with storms but never hit us. Before buying this pump getting rid of several gallons of gas was a nightmare. We have the 5 gallon gas containers they are heavy when full, awkward to hold up to a Suv and pour I even have some gas tanks with a type of vent spout will not fit in Suv. Just a messy aggravating task.
This little pump is genius. I pumped 16 gallons of gas in no time at all. I used this to remove as much gas as possible from the generator. I like this little pump so much I purchased a second one and purchased another as a gift for a friend.
Like I said about hurricanes sometimes we loose water and I have three bathtubs filled with fresh water and it is also a major pain to retrieve water from the tubs. This pump works like a charm to neatly fill a bucket of water without contaminating the entire tub. No bailing out water and spilling and dripping all over the place.
This pump is easy to use small and mighty. The one I use for fuel I have no issues with it breaking down after pumping fuel, as a matter of fact it will be used this weekend to get rid of the fuel purchased for Hurricane Matthew.

I’ve given my share of 5-star reviews, but this little tool definitely deserves more stars! I’ve been camping for 3 decades and just discovered this tool last summer in a little ma & pa hardware store on the Oregon coast. When my son-in-law saw it in use while camping with us in September, he asked for one for Christmas. (Thank you Amazon!) Anyway, I LOVE this Sierra Liquid Transfer Pump to empty out my cooler, which is VERY large and VERY heavy for this old woman to pull out of the car every time I need to empty the melted ice water. I get excited every dang time I use it because it is one of those simple BUT AMAZING little tools that I can now wonder how I ever camped without it!

The Sierra Tools Battery-operated Liquid Transfer Pump is a great value for the price. It did exactly what we needed it to do in a fraction of the time we had already spent trying to use a hand siphon. We have a little pond in our front yard (bathtub size). Something in the bottom became disconnected, algae grew and it was impossible to see what needed to be repaired. In order to make those repairs, it was necessary to remove the water. Since the pond is in the ground, it was necessary to siphon the water against gravity (up before down). I thought something automated might be better for the job. I ordered this item, received it two days later and had the repairs made two hours after receiving it. I would definitely recommend this pump for any type of liquid transfer.

WORKS GREAT. THE LAST ONE OVER 1000 GALLONS, UNTIL DURACELL BATT. LEAK. NOW I ONLY USE ENERGIZERS BATTERIES ON THIS ONE.!! EVERY 6 MONTH I PUT MY STORE GAS WITCH HAS ADDITIVES FOR LONG STORAGE FOR GENERATOR, RIDER AND SNOW BLOWER IN MY CAR. BUY FRESH GAS AND ADDITIVES THAT I PUT IN MY SELF. THIS COMES IN HANDY NO SPILLING. I WOULD NOT USE IT IN ANY THING LESS THEN 2 GALLONS YOU MAY OVER FILL IT’S QUICK. 5 GALLONS TAKES 3MINS ON AVG. FRESH BATT. 1 GALLON AS SOON AS YOU TURN IT ON I FEEL IT;S RUNNING OVER. THE ONLY THING I WISH IT HAD A LONGER HOSE. YOU NEED TO HOLD THE CONTAINER UP AND FILLING IT AT THE SAME TIME. I USED SAW HORSES ONCE BUT IT TOOK MORE TIME TO GET THEM OUT. BEETS TIPPING IT UP AND SPILLING IT. IT’S SAFER & EASIER. JUST DON’T TURN THE UNIT UP SIDE DOWN FOR 3 HRS TO 4HRS AFTER YOU USE IT, NOT SURE WHY BUT IT WILL RUN INTO THE BATT. COMPARTMENT. I HANG IT UP RIGHT AT ALL TIMES, AND SOP IT WHEN IT’S STOP PUMPING. MAY BE THIS IS WHY MY OLD ONE LAST SO LONG. MY FIRST ONE DIED IN A SORT PERIOD OF TIME BECAUSE 3 TIMES I WAS NOT CAREFUL AND GAS GOT INTO THE BATT. OR SOMETHING IT JUST STOP WORKING. ALSO STOP WHEN IT STOPS PUMPING FLUID, THIS KEEPS IT COOL AND LUBRICATED, IT WILL NOT LAST, SO I’VE BEEN TOLD.

Package arrived on time and undamaged. Removed pump, took out of plastic bag, and installed 2 D size batteries. My one gripe is that there in almost zero contrast showing which end of the battery goes in first. I finally decided that since the spring was on the cap, that should be for negative terminal, so I installed positive terminal in first with the negative in contact with the spring on the cap. I got my gasoline container sitting on the lawn mower, put the pump into the container and the outlet hose into the tank and hit the switch! BAM, pump started up, primed almost instantaneously, and filled my tank in a couple of minutes. I only needed about 2-3 gallons, as it was not empty. I am very pleased so far. One great note, the cap has a hole in a tab that is perfect for hanging the pump on a nail or hook so it is not left in a drawer or something. Also, there is a nifty bracket on the side to hold the outlet hose in place when stored.

I bought this to help with removing fuel from my riding lawnmower at the end of the mowing season, as there is no good way to install a valve to drain the tractors fuel tank. I was stunned to find that such a small compact pump is as powerful as it is. It did the job is less than a minute leaving only a tiny amount of fuel in the bottom of the tank. I was able to use it to remove the fuel from my snowblower and portable generator at the end of the winter season. This little gadget is going to save me a lot of headaches and time repairing plugged up Carberators and replacing fuel lines. Well worth the money.

I first saw this contraption in a YouTube video being demonstrated. I hemmed and hawed before pulling the trigger and grabbing one, and boy I’m glad I did. While it looks somewhat phallic, it does a fantastic job in pumping gas from your red fuel jug (you know, the one with the pain-in-the-butt safety nozzle) into your motor’s fuel tank. I use it on the lawnmowers. Not that I’m a weakling or anything, but who wants to hold a full five gallon jug of flammable liquid while they fight with a safety nozzle to drip some gas in. With this thing, you stick the black end into the red jug, put the flexible white hose into your motors gas tank, then flip the switch. Gasoline pumps at a moderate rate, and then the flow stops instantly when you flip off the switch.

I finally got around to using this today, I had gas in a generator that i had ready for a hurricane that needed to be taken out. (it had fuel stabilizer in it but still i might never use it). It pumped out 5 gallons fairly quickly. I think pumped it into my vehicle. I would prefer a longer hose (i have a pickup truck so i still had to hold the 5 gallon jug up) Works as described and take 2 D cell batteries not included. good product so far

We love this jewel when it comes to pouring gas from a 5 gallon can into anything that runs on gas. Instead of struggling to pick-up and pour gas from a heavy can without spilling it all over the place, we use our handy dandy Battery-Operated Liquid Transfer Pump. No mess, no fuss, it is absolutely wonderful. This our second one and it will be used to drain our 100 gallon fish tank periodically which is way better than dipping or siphoning the water out. We highly recommend this baby to anyone that has trouble lifting gas cans.
