I have been trying for several years to find a way to listen to music, answer my phone, AND HEAR TRAFFIC COMING FROM BEHIND ME while riding my bike.
The open ear design of these headphones is perfect. With a touch of a button I can even pause the music and have a conversation without pulling anything away from my ears. The sound quality is great and people I am talking to on the phone say they can hear me clearly without any breakup.
Another bonus I found is when bluetooth connected to my computer, I can walk away without ripping at the cord my wired headphones have

WOW I love these things!!! OK, so if you are an audiophile that is going to feel slighted by anything less than concert quality sound, move on to another pair of headphones. But if like me, you want good sound while you cycle or run but you also want to be alert to your surrounding, then try these things out. I wear them completely open eared, or when running on trails where I am only worried about bikers approaching from the rear, I wear one ear plug on the right side (seems to be the predominant bass driver side) and the sound gets much richer. I have even thrown in two earplugs with these, while riding my motorcycle…GENIUS!! I love them, and i WILL be buying a set for my daughter for college…far less worry for me about her propensity to run after classes in the evening hours. I want her to be able to hear what is around her rather than be tuned out to potential threats. These will fit the bill!

I was afraid of getting these, as they are my very first pair of bone conduction headphones, and to be honest I didn’t know what to expect, but after a while of using them and taking my time before writing my review I have to say I am very happy with them.
The material is great, it really feels premium and durable, exactly what one expects from a product designed for sports.
But at the same time is really light and easy to wear.
The battery is also great! The description claims it last 5 hours, but I’ve got up to 8 hours with no problems, and it takes 1 hour to charge completely, so I can charge it while working on my computer, and it is ready to go when I leave.
The bluetooth connection is great. The pairing process is easy and fast, like most devices nowadays. Once the device pairs, it connects to the phone/tablet/laptop really quickly.
Taking a call with these is delightful! Calls are clear (as long as you have good reception, of course), and the built-in microphone picks your voice really good and clear.
And finally and the most important, the audio quality. First you have to have clear that this are bone conduction, therefore it does not cover your ears. Do not expect the best quality a pair of headphones can offer, or the best bass because bone conduction can’t deliver that, at least not now.
Now, returning to the fact that the audio is bone conduction, then the quality is really great. You can listen music, podcasts, calls, and you can listen it clearly and with no problems at all, like it is inside your head, and without blocking the world surrounding you.
And the sound leakage is minimum, unless you set the volume to the maximum, then you can be easily be listening music without bothering others (other people may even not notice you’re listening to music).
I use mine’s while running, commuting and when working, and I am really happy with them. If you’re searching for a good pair of bone conduction headphones, whether it’s your first pair or getting new ones, I really recommend them.
You may think they’re a little bit expensive, but the quality is worth it.

These are my second set of bone conducting headphones, my first being a pair being a middle of the road brand which paled in comparison. I’ve had these for about s month now. These headphones were difficult to get used to at first, where they hook over the ears, it digs in a little on the back, causing some discomfort that went away after a few days, nothing debilitating for me. The sound quality is super clear at lower volumes, which gets me longer battery life I’ve noticed. They can get very loud, at the loudest it can actually block out your ability to hear ambient noises. I find the lack of bass disturbing, but the sound quality is amazing despite that. They fit well with my glasses and safety glasses, and my hat. They are a nice snug fit and don’t slide around on my head. I use these at work where earbuds are forbidden on the shop floor. If ear plugs are used in conjunction, it’s best to turn the volume way down so you can still hear ambient sounds. With proper volume management, it’s very easy to get through an 8 hour workday without recharging.

Was not sure if I was going to like them but man are they great!! Takes some getting used to but they work really well. Been worried about hearing loss with headphones so gave these a try. I wear them around so I can hear everything outside but still able to hear the music. Also great for mowing the yard. I put the ear plugs in so i cant hear anything and then put this on and can hear them music crystal clear. Held up to sweat and rain. Very nice and like them a lot. Connected easily to my phone and all the features worked.

Best headphones I’ve ever owned. Great sound quality.
I do wish they made one a little smaller around the back. They do stay on fine and everything, and I get that they’re ‘one size fits all’ so they need to accommodate larger heads, but they could made it like 2 inches shorter around and it would fit better. If I worked there I would pitch offering a sm/med and a med/lrg option. Because of the extra length, it kinda bows around the sides of my head a little, kinda pushing my ears out a little as it goes behind them (hard to visualize I guess). Still more comfortable to wear long term than any other headphones, but that’s the first part to start to bug me if I have then in all day.
Despite that, I still love them and they still get 5 stars from me 🙂

I work in an office setting and like to listen to podcasts. I wanted to try these out because I thought it would be nice to be able to hear when someone is speaking to me. These have fulfilled my need perfectly. The Bluetooth connects quickly, the Bluetooth has good range, and the battery will last me a couple of days of casual listening. Also, I’ve been told the voice quality is a big improvement from the LG around-the-neck Bluetooth headset I used to use.
The fit and comfort are pretty good. I have a big head, 7 7/8 hat size, and these fit me well. There is maybe 1/2″ of space along the back. If your head is much bigger, you may be pushing it. I do start to notice I’m wearing them after maybe an hour, but shifting them forward or back tends to help.
The audio quality exceeded my expectations. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like the speaker on my phone, but no one else can hear it. Their great for voice or watching videos, but just do the job for music. That was fine by me. You have to turn them up fairly loud before they start to leak sound. Also, since they leave the ear open, if I use them in the car or a noisy environment I have to turn them up pretty loud, but that’s to be expected. They include some foam ear plugs that make them more like ear buds.
They’re a little pricey, but for my personal use these seemed to fit best. I’ve really enjoyed them and recommend them.

AfterShokz Trekz has done something special with their new line of headphones. I was skeptical of the bone conduction technology but I got a hands-on experience at a Radio Shack in town (yes we still have one). It sounded great but more importantly I could hear everything around me. Ambient sound was easily detectable and if I spoke to someone I could hear them perfectly well. They could not hear the music playing which is an added bonus. I tested them out on a run and I could hear road traffic or any sound as if I did not have anything on. The music sounded good and if there is base you can feel the vibration if the volume is high enough. Funny thing is people think you are wearing standard wrap around headphones so they assume you cannot hear them talking. Very easy to go covert and be nosey or avoid any conversations because you are “listening” to music. Overall, I give them a super huge thumbs up.

Like many others who have bought this product, I had a few run-ins with crazy auto drivers while running and biking with earbuds. So I searched for a product that might allow me to listen to music while running and biking in urban areas with lots of traffic.
These headphones solve that problem. I can listen to music while running and biking in places where there is a lot of traffic, so primary problem solved. And on that basis along I strongly recommend this product.
But there are a couple of things to consider about these headphones. The first is the quality of the audio. If you expect to get anything near the sound quality from these headphones that you get from higher-end earbuds, think again. The audio quality from the Trekz is not great, you don’t get much low-end. So don’t expect that you’d use these for serious music listening.
The second is their fit. In general, they fit me relatively well, especially if I do not wear sunglasses. But with sunglasses, and a bike helmet, they can get a bit uncomfortable on longer rides — both behind the ears an on the side of the head.
So these Trekz are a tradeoff — you are giving up some sound quality, and might have a little discomfort, but you will hear traffic, and you’ll be much safer running, walking, or biking in urban areas with heavy traffic. I have not had serious encounters with crazy auto drivers since using my Trekz, and I feel much safer going out for runs and bike rides while using them.

These headphones exceed my expectations in a number of ways. The sound is terrific, for music I set the extreme bass equalizer in the player along with the headphone eq and the sound is perfect. They are great for phone calls as well. The headphones are very comfortable, I have had a hard time getting headphones that I can wear more than an hour or so. I am able to wear these as long as I want quite comfortably. They are very easy to use, I especially like being able to find out how much battery power is left. I like to be able to hear what is happening around me along with great sound. Excellent headphones, best I have ever owned. I will be buying a pair for my husband.

Really like not having earbuds jammed in my ears all the time. This makes me feel like I’m saving my hearing. No one else can hear what I’m listening to either, which is GREAT.
Can be worn under a bike helmet, as long as the helmet doesn’t interfere with the headphones in the back. They stick out a few inches and aren’t snug on the neck. Unfortunately, this means I can’t wear them in certain scenarios (like when I have my balaclava on).
Also, I dont know how much of this is really bone conduction and how much is just the speakers are close to my ears. I really don’t buy it, but they do work well.
